Frequently asked questions
What is the HTML to Image tool and how does it benefit photographers?
HTML to Image turns a snippet of HTML and inline CSS into a static PNG. For photographers, that is handy when you design pricing guides, email signatures, promo banners or website mockups in code and need a picture of them. Instead of taking an imprecise screen capture, you set the exact pixel width and height, pick a background color, and download a clean image you can share with clients, add to documents or post on social media.
How do I use the HTML to Image tool to convert my custom email signatures into an image file?
Paste the complete HTML of your signature or pricing table into the HTML & CSS Code box, with the styles written inline. Enter the width and height in pixels, which start at 800 by 600, and choose a background color. Click Update Preview to check the layout in the Live Preview, then click Download Image. The tool saves a PNG named html-to-image.png, ready to attach to emails or add to your portfolio.
Why should I use a dedicated converter instead of taking a standard screenshot?
A screenshot depends on your monitor, window size and zoom level, and it often picks up scrollbars, browser bars or neighboring content. This tool renders your code onto a canvas of exactly the pixel dimensions you enter, whatever your display, and saves it as a lossless PNG. Text edges stay crisp and colors come out as your CSS declares them, which keeps presentations of web designs and digital price lists looking consistent.
When is the best time to use this tool in my photography business workflow?
It fits the marketing and admin side of a photography business. When you build email sequences, a pricing table saved as an image looks the same in every email client, including those that strip styling. It is also useful for showing a newly coded layout on platforms where you cannot share live code, or for turning a styled announcement, booking notice or seasonal offer into a graphic for social media.
Why is my converted image missing some web fonts or CSS styling?
The downloaded image is drawn by your browser as a self-contained picture, and browsers do not load external stylesheets, web fonts or images into it. Link tags and remote URLs are therefore ignored, even when they show up in the Live Preview. Write your styles inline, use fonts installed on your system, and embed pictures and fonts as base64 data URIs. Also make sure every tag is properly closed, because broken markup can stop the image rendering.
How does this tool compare to a standard browser extension for webpage capturing?
Browser extensions capture a page that is already open, so you have to host or save your HTML first, and full-page captures can include browser clutter or stitching errors. This tool works on a pasted snippet directly, with no hosting, and renders it at the exact width and height you set. You get a single PNG of your markup alone, without toolbars, scrollbars or the rest of the page around it.
Can I convert HTML files with interactive elements into static images?
You get a static snapshot of the markup. JavaScript does not run in the rendered image, and hover states, transitions and carousels show only their default appearance. To capture a particular state, such as an open menu or a highlighted button, change your CSS so that state is shown by default, then download again. Motion is not captured, so plan any animated content as a single still frame.
What image formats are supported when exporting from the HTML to Image tool?
The tool exports PNG only. PNG uses lossless compression, which keeps text, line art and flat colors sharp, so it is the best fit for typical HTML layouts. The background color you choose fills the whole canvas, so the image has no transparent areas. If you need a JPEG, for example to make a photo-heavy layout smaller for email, open the PNG in any image editor and export it as JPEG from there.
Is my proprietary website code secure when using this free conversion tool?
Yes. The image is rendered entirely in your web browser on your own device. Your HTML, the text it contains and the resulting PNG never leave your computer, and the file is saved straight to your downloads folder. You can convert client invoices, unreleased website designs or other sensitive material without it being shared, indexed or seen by anyone else.
How do I adjust the dimensions of the final output image before conversion?
Set both values under Canvas Dimensions before you download; they start at 800 by 600 pixels. The width sets how wide your content is laid out, so text wraps the way it will in the image. The height is fixed as well: it is not calculated from your content, so anything taller than the height you enter is cut off at the bottom. Use Update Preview to check that everything fits, then raise the height if needed.
