Frequently asked questions

What size is B4 in pixels?

B4 measures 250 x 353 millimeters, roughly 9.8 x 13.9 inches. At 300 DPI that comes to about 2953 x 4169 pixels, the exact size this tool produces in portrait orientation. The output is a JPG saved at the highest quality setting, named B4_ followed by your original file name, ready to send to a printer.

How do I resize a photo to B4?

Click the area marked Drop or click to upload photo and select one image. Its name appears in the list as Ready. Press Resize to B4, and the tool resizes the image to 2953 x 4169 pixels and downloads the JPG. To prepare another print, click the upload area again and choose the next photo.

Will my photo keep its proportions?

Not automatically. The tool scales the whole image to exactly 2953 x 4169 pixels without cropping, so a photo with a different shape is stretched to fit. B4 has a ratio of about 1:1.41, while most cameras shoot 3:2, so a vertical 3:2 photo becomes slightly elongated. Crop to the B4 ratio in your editor first and the result will not be distorted.

Which formats does the B4 resizer accept?

Any image your browser can open works, such as JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. The result is always a JPG at maximum quality, which keeps compression artifacts to a minimum for printing. Transparent areas in a PNG are filled with white, which matches standard paper. The tool resizes one photo at a time, so repeat the steps for each print you need.

Where is the B4 paper size used?

B4 is an ISO size between A3 and A4 in area, common in Japan and parts of Europe for posters, newspapers, art prints and some exhibition layouts. Photographers may need it when working with print shops that stock B-series paper or when preparing work for portfolio reviews and competitions that specify B4.

Is the B4 resizer free and private?

Yes. It is free, adds no watermark and needs nothing installed. Your photo is processed in your browser and stays on your device, never uploaded. On first use you confirm you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account, which unlocks every tool in the collection.
