What size does this tool make SoundCloud artwork?
Every image is resized to a 3000 x 3000 pixel square, matching the requirement shown in the tool. A large square like this stays sharp when SoundCloud displays artwork big on track pages and small in feeds and playlists. The output is a JPG at 90 percent quality, a good balance between visible detail and a manageable file size for posting.
How do I resize an image for SoundCloud?
Click the area that says Drop your image here and choose a photo from your computer. The file appears in the list with its 3000x3000px target and a Ready status. Press Resize & Download, and the tool crops and scales the image, then saves it to your downloads folder with SoundCloud_ added to the front of the original file name.
What happens to a photo that is not square?
The photo keeps its proportions and is scaled until it covers the entire square, then the extra width or height is trimmed equally from both sides. A landscape image loses its left and right edges, and a portrait loses some of its top and bottom. Nothing is stretched. If your subject sits off center, crop to a square in your editor first for full control.
Which file types does it accept?
Any image format your browser can open is accepted, typically JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF, plus AVIF in modern browsers. The result is always a JPG. For the best artwork, start with a high-resolution file: an image smaller than 3000 pixels on its shorter side will be enlarged to fit, which can make it look softer than the original.

Shoot with the square crop in mind by leaving room around the subject, and keep the important detail near the center. Simple backgrounds and bold contrast hold up when artwork is shown as a small thumbnail. Finish your color grade before resizing, so the delivered square matches the rest of the shoot, and keep a full-size master in case the artist needs other crops later.
