Frequently asked questions
What size is A2 in pixels?
A2 measures 420 x 594 millimeters, roughly 16.5 x 23.4 inches. At 300 DPI that comes to 4961 x 7016 pixels, which is exactly the canvas this tool produces. The output is always portrait, saved as a JPG at 95 percent quality, and downloads as A2_Result.jpg, so rename each file if you are preparing several prints.
How do I resize a photo to A2?
Click the area labeled Click or Drag to Upload and select one photo. Its name appears with a Ready status. Press Resize to A2. The tool creates the A2 canvas, fits your image onto it and downloads the JPG, then the status changes to Done. Pick another file afterwards to prepare the next print.
Does the tool crop my photo to A2 proportions?
No, it never crops. Your photo is scaled to fit entirely inside the sheet and centered, with white filling the leftover space. Because A2 is about 1:1.41 and most cameras shoot 3:2, a vertical photo gets thin white bands top and bottom. A horizontal photo gets wide bands since the canvas is portrait. Crop to 1:1.41 first if you want no border.
Which file types are supported?
The tool lists JPG and PNG as supported, and other formats your browser can open, such as WebP, generally work too. Every result is a JPG at 95 percent quality, the format most print labs prefer. Transparent areas in a PNG are filled with white, which matches the paper color of a standard print.
Will an A2 print from my photo look sharp?
If your original is at least 4961 x 7016 pixels, it is reduced and stays crisp. Smaller files are enlarged to fill the canvas, which keeps the size correct but cannot add new detail, so very small images may look soft up close. Most modern camera files print well at A2, especially when viewed from normal poster distance.
Is it free to resize photos to A2?
Yes. The tool is free, with no watermark and nothing to install. Your photo is processed in your browser and never leaves your device. To access it, you confirm once that you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account, which unlocks every tool. Imagen also builds AI editing software that learns your personal style.
