Resize for Line
Resize for Line prepares photos for the LINE app in four sizes: an 800x800 profile picture, a 1080x1920 cover, a 1080x1080 post and a 2500x1686 rich menu image. Pick a format, add one or more photos, and each is center-cropped to fill the frame and saved as a JPG at the quality you set.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Resize for Line tool, and how does it help photographers?
Resize for Line is a free browser tool that adjusts photos to the sizes used in the LINE messaging app. It has four presets: Profile at 800 by 800 pixels, Cover at 1080 by 1920, Post at 1080 by 1080 and Rich Menu at 2500 by 1686 for official accounts. Photographers whose clients use LINE can prepare a profile picture, a cover or a post image that arrives at the right size and framing.
How do I use Resize for Line to format my client galleries?
Choose a format at the top: Profile, Cover, Post or Rich Menu. Then click the upload area or drop your photos onto it; you can add several. Set the JPEG Quality slider between 10 and 100 percent and click Resize for LINE. Each photo is scaled to fill the chosen size, trimmed evenly from the center, and downloads as a JPG named with LINE_, the format and your original file name.
Why should I use a dedicated resizer instead of letting the messaging app compress my photos?
When you send a large photo through a messaging app, the app scales and compresses it to save data, and you have no say in how. A full-size export can lose detail or shift in color on the way. Resizing to the exact pixel size first, at a quality you choose, means the app has less work to do, and you decide the framing rather than leaving the crop to the app.
When is the best time in my workflow to resize images for messaging platforms?
Resize at the very end of your post-production workflow, after color correction, retouching and final cropping are complete. Export your finished high-resolution files from your editing software, then make a separate set for LINE with this tool. Working from the finished export means the resized versions carry the exact color grading and exposure you set in your main edit, while your masters stay untouched.
What are the ideal image dimensions for different LINE app features?
This tool uses 800 by 800 pixels for a profile picture, which LINE shows as a circle, so keep the subject in the middle. Covers are 1080 by 1920, a 9:16 vertical frame. Posts are 1080 by 1080 squares. Rich Menu images for LINE Official Accounts are 2500 by 1686 pixels. LINE can change its recommendations, so check the app's current guidance if a size looks wrong after upload.
Why do my resized photos still look slightly blurry when sent through the app?
The app may still compress images, especially when the recipient has a data-saving option turned on or is on a cellular connection. Many messaging apps also offer a setting to send photos in original or high quality, so check that on your side. Start from a sharp, full-resolution export and keep the JPEG Quality slider fairly high, around 85 to 90 percent, so the file you send is clean before the app touches it.
How does this tool compare to resizing images manually in Photoshop or Lightroom?
Manual resizing in desktop editing software gives you complete control, but you have to remember the pixel sizes for each placement, set up a crop or export preset and run it. This tool has the four LINE sizes built in, so you pick one, add your photos and download the results. It is a quick option for profile updates and client sneak peeks when you do not want to open your main editing workstation.
What file formats are supported by the Resize for Line tool?
You can add JPG, PNG and WebP images, along with other formats your browser can open. Every result is saved as a JPG, which keeps files small and sharp for messaging. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas in a PNG become white. RAW files, TIFFs and PSDs cannot be opened in a browser, so export them as JPG or PNG from your editing software first.
Can I process multiple photographs at the same time using this utility?
Yes. Select several photos at once or drop a group onto the upload area, and they all join the list. When you click Resize for LINE, every photo is processed in turn with the format and quality currently selected, and each downloads as its own JPG. The format buttons are locked while a batch runs, so finish one size before switching to the next. Clear All empties the list.
Is there a cost associated with using this formatting utility?
No. The tool is free, with no fees, subscription or watermark on your downloaded images. It runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install, and your photos are resized on your own device rather than sent anywhere. To use it, you confirm once that you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account, which unlocks every tool in the collection.
