ICC Profile Converter
The ICC Profile Converter prepares a photo for its destination color space. Pick sRGB for screens and the web, Adobe RGB (1998) for print workflows, or Grayscale, and the tool converts the pixel values in your browser, embeds a matching profile for Adobe RGB, and saves a high-quality JPG with the profile in its name.
Supported: JPG, PNG, TIFF

Frequently asked questions
What does the ICC Profile Converter do?
It converts an image to a target color space and saves it as a JPG at 95 percent quality. Your browser first reads the photo, using its embedded profile, into sRGB. For sRGB, that result is saved as it is. For Adobe RGB, the colors are mathematically converted to Adobe RGB (1998) primaries and a matching ICC profile is embedded in the file. Grayscale keeps each pixel's luminance. The chosen profile is added to the file name.
How do I convert an image's color profile?
Click the upload area and choose an image; the tool takes one file at a time. The Target Color Space Profile menu appears with your file listed as Pending. Pick sRGB (Standard Web), Adobe RGB (Print) or Grayscale, then click Convert & Download. The status changes to Done and a JPG named Converted_, followed by your file name and the profile, downloads. Click Clear All to start over with another image.
Should I use sRGB or Adobe RGB?
Use sRGB for anything viewed on screens: websites, social media, client galleries and most consumer print labs, which expect sRGB files. Adobe RGB covers a wider range of greens and cyans and suits print workflows where the lab asks for it. This tool works from an sRGB reading of your photo, so converting to Adobe RGB tags and encodes the file correctly but does not recover colors beyond sRGB. If you are unsure, sRGB is the safer choice.
Which file formats can I convert?
The upload area lists JPG, PNG and TIFF, and the tool works with any image your browser can open. Every file is saved as a JPG at 95 percent quality, which keeps detail high for delivery. Transparent areas are filled with white, since JPG has no transparency. Some browsers cannot decode TIFF files, so if a TIFF does not load, export it as a PNG or JPG from your editor first.
Why do my colors change between my editor and the web?
Wide-gamut images, such as Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB exports, look muted or oversaturated when an app or website ignores their embedded profile and treats the numbers as sRGB. Delivering web images in sRGB avoids that mismatch. Converting to sRGB before you upload is the simplest way to make colors look consistent on every screen your clients use.
Is the ICC Profile Converter free and private?
Yes. It is free, with no watermark and nothing to install. Your images are processed in your browser on your own device and are never uploaded. To use the tools, you answer once that you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account; after that, every tool is unlocked.
