AVIF to JPG Converter
AVIF files are compact, but plenty of editors, print labs and client inboxes still want JPG. This AVIF to JPG Converter turns one AVIF or a whole batch into full-resolution JPGs in your browser, with a quality slider so photographers can choose between smaller files and maximum detail before every download starts.

Frequently asked questions
What does the AVIF to JPG Converter do?
It converts AVIF images into standard JPG files that open in virtually every editor, browser, phone and print workflow. Each image keeps its original pixel dimensions, and you choose the JPG quality before converting. You can process a single file or many at once, and every AVIF downloads as its own JPG with the same name, so your files stay easy to match up afterward.
How do I convert AVIF to JPG?
Drop your AVIF files on the upload area or click to select them. They appear in a list marked Ready, and the JPG Quality slider shows up. Choose a quality, then click Convert to JPG. Each file moves through Processing to Done and downloads automatically as a .jpg with the original file name. If a file cannot be read, it is marked Error. Click Clear All to start again.
Which JPG quality setting should I choose?
The slider runs from 10 to 100 percent and starts at 90, which keeps detail that is hard to tell apart from the original while trimming file size. Use 95 to 100 for images you will print or edit further. Drop to 70 or 80 for web galleries, social media and email, where smaller files load faster. Values below 60 can show blocky artifacts in skies and smooth skin.
What happens to transparent areas in my AVIF?
JPG does not support transparency, so the converter places every image on a white background before saving. Fully transparent areas turn white, and soft edges blend into white. That suits most photographs, which have no transparency at all. If you are converting logos, overlays or cutouts that need a clear background, choose the AVIF to PNG Converter instead, since PNG keeps the transparency intact.
Why convert AVIF to JPG in a photography workflow?
AVIF is efficient for the web, but support is still uneven in older editing software, print lab ordering systems, gallery platforms and email clients. Converting to JPG avoids rejected uploads and clients who cannot open a file. It is also handy when you have downloaded reference images or website assets in AVIF and want to bring them into an editor or catalog that only reads JPG.
Is the converter free, and are my photos uploaded?
It is free, with no watermark and nothing to install, and your photos are not uploaded. Conversion happens inside your browser on your own device. To get access, you confirm you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account once, which unlocks all the tools. Reading AVIF depends on your browser, so make sure you are using a current version.
