JFIF to JPG Converter
The JFIF to JPG Converter turns .jfif images, often saved from browsers on Windows, into standard .jpg files that every editor, form and print lab accepts. Select one or several files, set the output quality, and each converted JPG downloads with its original name, ready for your catalog, a client folder or an online order.

Frequently asked questions
What is a JFIF file?
JFIF, the JPEG File Interchange Format, is a variant of JPEG, and many images saved from web browsers, especially on Windows, end up with a .jfif extension. The image data is JPEG, but some apps, online forms and print services do not recognize the extension and reject the file. Converting it to .jpg solves that problem.
How do I convert JFIF to JPG?
Click the area at the top and choose your files; you can pick several .jfif, .jpg or .jpeg files at once. Set the Output Quality slider, which defaults to 90 percent, then click Convert to JPG. Each file shows Converting, then Done, as a .jpg with the same name downloads. Allow multiple downloads if your browser asks.
Why not just rename the file extension?
Renaming .jfif to .jpg often works, since the data is already JPEG. Converting is the more reliable choice when software still rejects the file, because the tool re-encodes it as a clean, standard JPG. It also lets you set a quality level, which is useful when an online form or print order has a file size limit.
What output quality should I use?
The slider runs from 1 to 100 percent. Since the file is already JPEG compressed, re-encoding at 90 to 95 keeps quality close to the original. Lower values shrink the file further, which helps with email or size-limited forms, but add visible artifacts below about 70. Re-encoding never restores lost detail, so start from the best version you have.
Why do I keep getting JFIF files?
Some versions of Windows and certain browsers save downloaded JPEG images with a .jfif extension because of a system setting, so reference images, client mood boards and files saved from social sites often arrive that way. Converting them in a batch before importing into your catalog or sending them to a lab keeps your file naming consistent.
Is the JFIF to JPG converter free and private?
Yes. It is free, adds no watermark and needs no software. Your images are converted in your browser on your own device and never leave it. The first time you open a tool, you confirm you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account; after that, every tool is unlocked.
