HDR Merge Online

HDR Merge Online blends a set of bracketed exposures into one image directly in your browser. Load two or more shots of the same scene, ideally three or more taken at different exposures, and the tool averages them pixel by pixel to balance shadows and highlights, then downloads the merged result as a PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How does HDR Merge Online combine my photos?

The tool loads all your exposures, reads every pixel and averages the red, green and blue values across the set. Detail that is dark in the underexposed frames and bright in the overexposed ones meets in the middle, giving a more even exposure than any single frame. The result is a standard 8-bit image saved as HDR_Merged.png.

How do I merge bracketed photos?

Click the upload area or drag your bracketed images onto it, selecting all of them at once. The files appear in a list, and the Merge HDR button becomes active once at least two are loaded. Click it, and the tool blends the set and downloads HDR_Merged.png automatically. JPG and PNG files work best.

How many exposures should I use?

Two is the minimum, but three or more bracketed shots are recommended, typically spaced one or two stops apart, for example -2, 0 and +2 EV. Because the merge is an average, each frame carries equal weight, so a balanced set of brackets centered on the correct exposure gives the most natural result.

Do my bracketed shots need to be aligned?

Yes. The tool does not align images or remove ghosting, so it works best with brackets shot on a tripod, with the same framing, focal length and image size. The output uses the dimensions of the first image. Moving subjects such as people, water or leaves will appear blended or doubled, so choose static scenes where possible.

Is this suitable for real estate and interior photography?

It is a quick way to preview or produce a balanced blend of a static interior or exterior from tripod brackets, for example to check how a bright window view and a darker room combine. For final listing images, where window detail and color accuracy matter, you will usually refine the merged result further in your editor.

Is HDR Merge Online free, and are my photos private?

Yes. It is free, with no watermark and no software to install. All merging happens in your browser on your own device, and your photos are never uploaded. Before first use, you answer that you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account; that one step unlocks every tool.
