Frequently asked questions
What does the AVIF to PDF Converter do?
It turns AVIF images into PDF documents. Each AVIF becomes a separate PDF with one page, and that page is sized to match the image's pixel dimensions, in portrait or landscape to suit the photo. The image is placed edge to edge, so there are no margins and nothing is cropped. PDFs open on any computer or phone, which makes them easy to share with clients and print shops.
How do I convert AVIF files to PDF?
Click the upload area or drop your AVIF images onto it. Each file is listed with its size and a Ready status, and the Convert to PDF and Clear List buttons appear. Click Convert to PDF. Each file shows Processing, then Converted, and its PDF downloads with the original file name. A file that cannot be read is marked Failed. You can keep adding files to the list before converting.
Can I combine several AVIF images into one PDF?
No. This converter creates one PDF per image, so ten AVIF files produce ten PDF documents. That keeps every image at its own page size and makes individual files easy to send or replace. If you need a single multi-page document, such as a proof sheet, you can merge the separate PDFs afterward with any PDF tool you already use on your computer.
Does converting to PDF reduce image quality?
Very little. The image is embedded in the PDF as a high-quality JPEG at 95 percent, at its full original resolution, so detail is preserved for viewing and most printing. Any transparent areas are filled with white, since the page has a white background. If you need a pixel-perfect lossless copy for further editing, convert to PNG or TIFF instead and keep the PDF for sharing.
When is a PDF better than an image file for photographers?
PDF is the format many print shops, publishers and offices expect, and it opens the same way on every device without depending on image format support. It is handy for sending a single image as an attachment to a contract, a tear sheet, an invoice package or a submission portal that only accepts documents. Clients who struggle with AVIF files can open a PDF without trouble.
Is the AVIF to PDF Converter free and secure?
Yes, it is free, adds no watermark and needs no software. The conversion runs in your browser, so your images are processed on your device and never uploaded. Access is a one-time step: confirm you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account, and every tool is unlocked. AVIF decoding relies on your browser, so keep it up to date.
