Batch Format Converter
Switch a whole folder of images to the format you need in one pass. The Batch Format Converter turns JPG, PNG, WebP and other browser-readable images into JPEG, PNG or WebP at full resolution, so photographers can prepare files for clients, websites and labs without opening an editor or converting them one at a time.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Batch Format Converter do?
It converts a batch of images to a single target format: JPEG, PNG or WebP. Each image keeps its full pixel dimensions and downloads as a separate file with the new extension. It reads any image format your browser can display, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, which makes it a quick way to standardize a mixed folder before delivery or upload.
How do I convert multiple images at once?
Click the upload area and select all the images you want to convert. They appear in a list marked Ready, and the Target Format menu appears. Choose JPEG, PNG or WebP, then click Convert All Files. Each file switches to Processing and then Done, and downloads automatically with its original name and the new extension. Select a new set of files to run another batch.
Which target format should I choose?
Choose JPEG for photographs you are sending to clients, labs or social platforms, since it is universally supported and compact. Choose PNG for lossless copies, graphics, screenshots and anything with transparency. Choose WebP for websites, where it usually gives smaller files than JPEG at similar quality. WebP export needs Chrome, Edge or Firefox, because some versions of Safari cannot write WebP from a browser tool.
Can I set the compression quality?
There is no quality slider in this tool. JPEG and WebP files are written with your browser's standard default quality, which is high enough for sharing and web use, and PNG is always lossless. If you need precise control over JPEG quality or a specific file size, run the files through the Batch Photo Compressor or one of the compress-to-size tools after converting.
What happens to transparency when I convert?
PNG and WebP both support transparency, so transparent areas carry over when you pick either of them. JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled in and will not stay clear. If you are converting logos, watermarks or cutouts, choose PNG or WebP. For ordinary photographs, which have no transparent areas, any of the three formats works without issue.
Is the Batch Format Converter free, and are my images uploaded?
It is free, with no watermark and nothing to install, and your images are not uploaded. Conversion happens in your browser on your own device. Access takes one step: confirm you are a photographer and create or log into a free Imagen account, which unlocks every tool. Imagen also builds AI editing and culling software for professional photographers.
