Jacqueline Dersjant was formally only a wedding photographer. But years back as her mother while her mother was facing the end of her life, Jacqueline began photographing and blogging about what was happening. This changed how Jacqueline saw the end of life and came to realize that there is something deeply powerful about documenting so many precious moments.

Since then, Jacqueline has been photographing end-of-life and funerals for her clients. But because this point in people’s lives is such a delicate topic, Jacqueline has to ensure communication is strong.

In addition to your standard business communication, she has meaningful conversations to truly get to know the family and the person who is dying or has passed already.

Watch this clip from episode 13 of our podcast, Workflows, to hear what Jacqueline has to say about communication when photographing difficult times.
