TIFF to PDF Converter
The TIFF to PDF Converter turns TIFF images, including multi-page scans, into PDF documents that open on any device. Photographers can drop in several TIFF files and get one PDF for each, with every page of a multi-page TIFF kept as its own page, sized to the image and stored as a high-quality JPEG, all in the browser.

Frequently asked questions
What is a TIFF file and why would I need to convert it to a PDF?
TIFF is a high-quality image format used for photo masters, print files and document scans, and it can hold several pages in one file. Many people, though, cannot open TIFFs easily on a phone or in an email. PDF opens on virtually every device and keeps pages together in order, so converting is a simple way to send scans, proofs or multi-page TIFFs to clients, labs or venues in a format they can view and print.
How exactly do I use the TIFF to PDF Converter?
Wait a moment for the button to read Convert to PDF, then drag .tif or .tiff files onto the upload area or click to choose them. Other file types are skipped with a notice. Each file appears in a list marked Ready. Click Convert to PDF and each TIFF is processed in turn, marked Done or Error, and its PDF downloads with the original file name. Files already done are skipped if you convert again; Clear All empties the list.
Why should photographers use a PDF format for client proofs instead of raw TIFFs?
Clients can open a PDF on any phone, tablet or computer without special software, while TIFFs are large and often will not preview. The PDF from this tool stores each image as a high-quality JPEG, so it is much smaller than the TIFF and easier to email or download. A multi-page TIFF stays together as one document. Keep the TIFF as your master, and send the PDF for viewing and approval.
When is the best time in my photography workflow to use the TIFF to PDF Converter?
Use it at the delivery and paperwork stages: sending proofs or contact sheets that you have saved as TIFF, sharing scanned prints or negatives with a client, or turning scanned documents, such as signed releases or contracts, into PDFs for your records. It is less suited to final print files, because pages are stored as JPEG; for print, send the TIFF itself unless your lab asks for a PDF.
How does converting a TIFF to a PDF compare to converting a TIFF to a JPEG?
Both make smaller, widely readable files, and in this tool both use JPEG compression for the pictures. The difference is the container. A JPEG holds one image, while a PDF can hold many pages, so a multi-page TIFF stays together as a single document. PDFs also open consistently in document viewers and print at the page size shown. For a single photo to post or share, a JPEG is simpler.
What should I do if my converted PDF file is still too large to send via email?
Each page is stored at the TIFF's full pixel size as a high-quality JPEG, and there is no size setting, so very large scans give large PDFs. Reduce the pixel dimensions of the TIFF in your editor before converting; for screen viewing, a long edge of a few thousand pixels is usually plenty. For a multi-page file, consider splitting it. Otherwise, share the PDF through a file transfer link rather than as an attachment.
Can I combine multiple TIFF images into one single PDF document?
Not from separate files: each TIFF you add becomes its own PDF. The tool does keep every page of a multi-page TIFF, though, so a multi-page TIFF becomes one multi-page PDF in the same order. To combine several single images into one document, save them as one multi-page TIFF in your editing or scanning software first, or merge the resulting PDFs with a PDF tool.
Are my high-resolution TIFF files secure when using a free online converter?
Yes. This converter runs entirely in your browser, so your TIFF files are read and turned into PDFs on your own device and are never sent anywhere. The PDFs are saved directly to your downloads folder. That keeps client images and private documents on your computer. Your original TIFF files are only read, never changed, and closing the tab clears everything the page loaded.
Will using the TIFF to PDF Converter degrade the visual quality of my photographs?
Only slightly. Each page keeps its full pixel dimensions but is stored as a JPEG at 95 percent quality, which is very hard to tell from the original at normal viewing sizes. 16-bit TIFFs are reduced to 8 bits per channel, and transparency is not supported, so flatten any transparent areas onto a background before converting. For print masters, keep and deliver the TIFF itself.
Does the converted PDF work on mobile devices and tablets?
Yes. PDF is a standard document format, and the files this tool creates open in the built-in viewers on phones and tablets as well as on computers. Each page is sized to its image, so photos fill the screen without added margins, and multi-page documents scroll page by page. Very large scans can be slow to open on older phones, so reduce their pixel size first if needed.
