Photo Cyberpunk Filter

Push your photos into neon-soaked, sci-fi territory with the Photo Cyberpunk Filter. This free tool for photographers shifts colors toward magenta and blue by boosting the red and blue channels while pulling back green, controlled by a single Cyberpunk Intensity slider. It works well on night street, city and portrait shots, and saves a JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Photo Cyberpunk Filter do to my image?

It applies a color grade inspired by cyberpunk film and game visuals. At full strength it raises the red channel by 30 percent, lowers green by 20 percent and raises blue by 50 percent, which pushes neutral and warm tones toward magenta and violet. A small contrast tweak is applied to the red channel as well. The Cyberpunk Intensity slider scales all of this, from no change at 0 to the full grade at 100.

How do I use the cyberpunk filter?

Drop a photo onto the area labeled Drop Photo to Cyber-ify, or click it to choose a file. The Cyberpunk Intensity slider then appears, set to 70 by default. Adjust it to taste and click Apply Filter & Download. The tool processes the image and your browser saves the result straight away as a JPEG, with cyberpunk_ added to the start of the original file name.

Which photos work best with a cyberpunk color grade?

Night scenes with artificial light respond best: city streets, neon signage, wet pavement, car light trails and portraits lit by LEDs or practical lights. Because the filter amplifies red and blue, scenes that already contain those colors become more saturated and moody, while bright skies and foliage can turn purple. Shooting at dusk or blue hour gives the grade plenty of color to work with.

What formats does it accept, and what quality is the output?

The upload area lists JPEG and PNG, and other images your browser can open will generally work too. The output is a JPEG at the same pixel dimensions as your original, encoded at the browser's standard JPEG quality. If you need a lossless copy for further editing, finish your main edit first and treat this filter as the last creative step before export.

Where does the cyberpunk filter fit in my editing workflow?

Apply it after your core edit. Correct exposure, white balance and noise in your usual editor, export a JPEG, then run it through the filter at a few intensity settings to compare. Lower values around 30 to 50 give a subtle tint suited to client work, while higher values suit album covers, posters and social content where a bold look matters more than natural skin tones.

Does the Photo Cyberpunk Filter cost anything, and is it private?

It costs nothing, and your images stay with you. Every step happens in your web browser on your own computer or phone, so files never leave your device, and the download carries no watermark. Access needs one quick step the first time: confirm you are a photographer and sign up for, or log into, a free Imagen account. After that, every tool is open to you.
