Photographer Workshop Waiver
The Photographer Workshop Waiver lets participants in your photography workshop read a short release of liability, type their full name and draw a signature with a mouse or finger. One click saves a signed A4 PDF with the clauses, name, date and signature, ready to file before the workshop begins.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Photographer Workshop Waiver include?
The waiver has four short clauses. The participant acknowledges that photography workshops carry inherent risks, including travel to different locations and the use of equipment. They agree to hold the workshop organizers harmless from any injury or loss, give permission for photos taken during the workshop to be used for promotion, and confirm that they have adequate insurance coverage. The wording is fixed in the tool, so read it first and make sure it suits the workshop you run before you ask anyone to sign.
How does a participant sign the waiver?
The participant reads the waiver in the scrolling box, types their full name in the field below it, and draws a signature in the dashed box with a mouse, trackpad, stylus or finger. Clear Signature wipes the box for another attempt. Sign & Download Waiver (PDF) checks that both a name and a signature are present and asks for whichever is missing before it creates the file, so an unsigned or anonymous waiver cannot be saved by accident.
What is in the downloaded PDF?
The tool saves an A4 PDF whose file name starts with Workshop_Waiver followed by the participant's name. It holds the title Release and Waiver of Liability, the four clauses, the participant's name, the date of signing as set on the device, and the drawn signature on a white background above a line marked Participant signature. The file opens in any PDF reader, so you can print it, email it or keep it with the rest of your workshop records.
How do I collect waivers from a whole group of participants?
Each signature produces one PDF, saved on the device where it was signed. A simple routine at check-in is to pass a tablet or laptop to each participant in turn, let them sign and download, then clear the name field and press Clear Signature for the next person. If participants sign on their own phones, the PDF lands on their phone instead, so ask them to send it to you before the workshop starts. The tool never forwards a waiver anywhere on its own.
Is the signed workshop waiver legally binding?
The tool produces a general-purpose waiver and a record that a named person signed it on a given date. It does not make any promise about enforceability. Whether a liability waiver holds up depends on where the workshop takes place, the activities involved and how the waiver is presented, and some places limit what a waiver can exclude. Treat the PDF as a practical starting point rather than legal advice, and ask a local lawyer to review the wording before you rely on it.
Is the workshop waiver free, and where do the signatures go?
It is free and adds no watermark to the PDF. The waiver is filled in, signed and turned into a PDF entirely in the browser, so the participant's name and signature stay on the device used to sign and exist only in the downloaded file. To open the tool you confirm once that you are a photographer and create a free Imagen account, which also unlocks the other free tools in the collection for planning, running and billing your photography work.
