AI-powered Blink Detection
Imagen scans each photo for faces and evaluates eye posture. Photos with closed or partially closed eyes get lower ratings, so you spend less time hunting for blinks yourself.
Try it todayAutomatic face and eye analysis
Imagen detects every face in your photos and examines eye posture for each person. Open, closed, or partially closed — the AI identifies it all without manual review.
Lower ratings for closed eyes
When the AI finds a blink, it factors this into the photo's overall score. Photos where subjects have their eyes closed rank lower, keeping the best expressions at the top.

Frequently asked questions
How does Blink Detection work?
Imagen’s AI detects all faces in each photo and analyzes the eye posture of every subject. It classifies eyes as open, closed, or partially closed. Photos where one or more subjects have closed eyes receive a lower quality score, which affects their ranking in your culling results.
Does Blink Detection work with multiple people in a photo?
Yes. The AI analyzes every face it detects in the photo, not just the primary subject. If anyone in the frame has their eyes closed, Blink Detection factors this into the overall photo score. This is especially helpful for group shots where catching everyone with open eyes is tricky.
Will photos with closed eyes be deleted?
No. Imagen never deletes your photos. Blink Detection lowers the rating of affected photos so they appear as alternates rather than keepers. You can always review these photos and restore them if the closed eyes were intentional — like a kiss, laugh, or candid moment.
Can I see why a photo was rated lower?
Yes. In Culling Studio, you can filter photos by rating or view flagged issues. Photos affected by Blink Detection appear in the lower-rated group, making it easy to understand why certain shots ranked below others in the same series.
Does Blink Detection work on all face sizes?
Blink Detection works best when faces are large enough in the frame for the AI to analyze accurately. Very small or distant faces may not be evaluated as precisely. For best results, ensure subjects are reasonably prominent in your photos.
