Sam Hurd photographs many weddings every year and has countless leads come through his website.

To help Sam keep up with leads, clients, invoices, and other business aspects a photographer has to deal with, he relies on a CRM (customer relationship management) tool.

More specifically, a tool that is designed for photographers. He does not recommend the one he is using for those needing a CRM. However, the benefits of using a CRM are grand, so he still encourages every photography business to use some CRM tool.

If you are looking to improve your sales process, then a CRM may be just what you need. A CRM, or customer relationship management system, is a software program that allows you to track and manage your customers and leads.

Benefits of using a CRM tool for photographers include:

  1. Organizing your leads – Having a photography business means you are collecting information in several ways; online, word of mouth, referrals, etc.
  2. Tracking your clients – Once you have a client, you will want to keep track of their information, what services they have purchased, what packages they have purchased, their signed contracts, and any other notes you may want to keep.
  3. Automating tasks – By automating specific tasks, you can save yourself a lot of time and energy. For example, you can automate the task of sending out a welcome email to new clients or of following up with leads who have not responded.
  4. Generating reports – A CRM can be used to create a number of different reports, such as sales reports, client reports, or lead reports. This information can help you track your progress and identify areas where you may need to make changes. Reports can also tell you what marketing or advertising efforts are getting you leads and clients.

A CRM will allow you to do all of this and more.

Do you have a CRM in place already? Comment to share which. So those who are researching can get ideas from you.

Watch and listen to Sam Hurd talking about this in detail in a clip from episode 3 of our podcast, Workflows.
